Amazing drone footage has revealed both the interior and exterior of Manchester Airport’s brand new Terminal 2 pier.
The 700ft building has more than 300 panes of glass, 1,400 seats and 11 gates and air bridges, and is the first completed phase of a £1billion transformation programme at the airport.
The fly-through-footage was released to coincide with the first flights departing from the pier yesterday morning.
For the shooting of the interior clip the drone was flown at walking pace over the gleaming floors, alongside the moving walkways and past the gates.
Outside the machine swoops down above two parked Jet2.com jets as a security car keeps watch.
A fascinating time-lapse clip has also been released, condensing an 18-month build into just 44 seconds.
The structure, which also provides extensive panoramic views of the airfield, will be used by all airlines that operate out of Terminal 2.
The first flights to depart yesterday were both operated by Tui Airways en route to Funchal in Maderia and Naples, Italy.
