With an aim of cleaning up search results in the App store, Apple plans to remove dysfunctional apps that no longer work, don’t follow current review or are simply outdated.
The company announced that from next week it will start reviewing apps and remove those which have issues like bugs or crashing when launched. But don’t worry who have already downloaded apps, the process won’t affect that one.
During this process company will contact developers whose apps don’t meet the new guidelines and 30 days’ time period will be given to submit updates and if they fails to do so their programs are gone for good. Even no other developers can use the names of deleted apps.
In addition, all app and updates names will have a maximum length of 50 characters this gets rid of apps that attempt to capture extra search relevance with names that read like a Tumblr tags.
