The X Factor was dumped last year because of poor ratings.
And now Channel Seven has confirmed it has commissioned a new talent search show to take its place.
Applications are now open for All Together Now, which will be produced by Endemol Shine, is a singing contest that has similarities to the game show 1 vs. 100.
The difference is that the performer, either a group or solo, will have to impress the as many of the music experts in the crowd of 100 with their prowess, by getting them to stand up and sing along with them.
The more experts who sing and dance along with the talent, the better the chances the performer will have of winning the $100,000 prize.
This new format is based of the original BBC show hosted by comedian Rob Beckett and featuring Geri Horner (nee Halliwell).
Applications for the competition are asking for people who enjoy singing in front of a live audience and have what it takes to entertain a crowd.
‘We are looking for talented singers to take part in a new singing show with a difference,’ the advert read.
‘Forget what you think you know about talent shows, because if the crowd’s not singing, you’re not winning!’
