The exclusive Coachella bash you can’t bribe your way into

Are you on the list?

Impeccably dressed, tanned revelers at this year’s Coachella face an unexpected hurdle in proving that they had a Very Good Time at the weekend of music festival held annually in Indio, California.

Of the myriad VIP tents and luxe branded experiences — clothing brand Revolve, Moschino, American Express, and Yves Saint Laurent are all expected to set up shop — the most enviable invite of the weekend is Saturday’s Neon Carnival.

Of Coachella’s estimated 125,000 attendees, only 8,000 will be admitted to the amusement park-cum-dance party, the brainchild of former “The Hills” cast member and LA nightlife prince Brent Bolthouse, of “The Bungalow” fame.

Bolthouse apparently sees himself as a clubby Robin Hood: He believes good vibes aren’t only for the highest bidders, but also the hottest celebrities. That’s right, you can’t buy your way in.

The only currency accepted is celebrity.

“Something happened in nightlife where wealthy individuals became the Leonardo DiCaprios of the nightclub world, where celebrities became number two and the wealthy became number one,” the former promoter tells the Hollywood Reporter. “That, to me, is not ever how it should be.”
