Liam Charles was undoubtedly the breakout star of the last series of The Great British Bake Off, and frankly we are still not over the fact he only came fifth.
However, justice always comes eventually, and we are pretty damn excited at the news that he is back hosting his own spin-off show.
The 20-year old will co-present Bake Off: The Professionals – the professional spin-off to the main show – for Channel 4 alongside comedian Tom Allen.
The series will be judged by pastry chefs Cherish Finden and Benoit Blin, with professional duos given two rounds of challenges per episode.
“I’m totally amazed by the skill of professional chefs and to be doing this so soon after Bake Off, is just sick,” Liam said. “I can’t wait to get cracking. I told you I’d be back.”
We’re so glad you are, Liam.
Tom added: “I am over the moon to be joining the Bake Off family and to be working with such a great team including my co-host Liam, the judges and some truly incredible professional patissiers (…is that how you spell it? Basically people who make cake for money).
“Finally! It feels like getting that A* in Food Technology GCSE was all worth it in the end!”
