“Supergirl” is about to get a new boss. “Cougar Town” alum Ian Gomez got a recurring role in the CW series’ second season. He is going to play Snapper Carr, who is the new editor-in-chief of Catco Magazine.
Hired by Cat Grant, Carr is a rather headstrong news man committed to hard-hitting journalism. As he expects too much of his reporters, he keeps pushing them to dig deeper and deeper to reach excellence. He also holds nothing back. Carr has no problem telling people what he thinks of them and this approach urges Kara (Melissa Benoist) to do unexpected things.
There is no news if LA actress Flockhart, who plays Cat Grant, will return to Season 2 of “Supergirl” either, especially after the production’s decision to move from LA to Vancouver.
The new boss of Kara will probably take over and so Flockhart might only appear in the first few episodes of Season 2. Though the discussions with the Los Angeles actress are still ongoing, as it was announced by CW president Mark Pedowitz.
During a press conference in May, Pedowitz expressed his gratitude working with Flockhart. “We’re happy to have her in whatever capacity is worked out,” he said.
The second season of “Supergirl” will launch on Monday, October 10 at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
