From rivals to friends! Ricki-Lee Coulter reveals who her favourite singer was from her season of Australian Idol in 2004

Ricki-Lee Coulter took a trip down memory lane earlier this week during an Instagram Q&A with fans.

The 33-year-old singer, who is working on her fifth album, was asked by one of her followers who her favourite contestant was from her season of Australian Idol.

While she could have easily just said herself, Ricki-Lee instead revealed her favourite was the season’s runner up, Anthony Callea.

Ricki-Lee’s season of Australian Idol produced a handful of notable talents, including Casey Donovan (who won the show) and Em Rusciano.

She described Anthony as a ‘lil cutie’ and even shared a throwback snap of her friend posing for an Idol photo shoot.

Despite placing second to Casey, Anthony has gone on to have a successful career in the music industry.

He signed with Sony Music Australia after Idol and has released a total of six albums.

In addition to his career as a recording artist, he has performed in various stage shows and also appeared on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!

Meanwhile, Ricki-Lee herself recently returned to the studio after a two-year hiatus, releasing a new single, Unbothered, in October.
