It is already one of the most successful video games ever released – but Red Dead Redemption 2 is about to take a leaf out of Fortnite’s book to get even better.
Called Gun Rush, it allows up to 32 players to compete against each other.
Like Fortnite’s Battle Royale mode, they will scramble for weapons and ammunition in an ever-shrinking play area.
‘You’ll put your survival instincts to the test, gathering weapons and ammunition while the play area shrinks in this new mode for up to 32 players,’ Rockstar Games, the makers of Red Dead Redemption 2 said.
It also promised more updates are coming soon including new Races and Showdown Modes and new clothing and emotes.
To stop criticism that some players in the game’s online mode are simply too voilent and annoying, Rockstar said changes to the Parley system are also en route to make it easier to avoid aggressive players.
“In addition, it will be easier to trigger Feuds, Posse Feuds and Leader Feuds to take on attacking players in structured competition,” Rockstar said.
After a long, eight-year wait, the sequel to 2010 Red Dead Redemption was released at the end of October, and has since received dozens of tweaks and updates.
