The Footy Show plunges to dismal depths with just 50,000 viewers in Melbourne while rival The Front Bar smashes ratings war

The Footy Show plunged to dismal depths with their ratings on Thursday night.

Nine’s AFL sports program drew in a dreary 53,000 viewers in Melbourne, with 278,000 people tuning in overall.

By contrast, The Front Bar – which also aired at 8.30pm – triumphed with a whopping 278,000 in Melbourne and scored 427,000 viewers overall.

The Front Bar, which is hosted by Andrew Maher, Mick Molloy and Sam Pang, has enjoyed stellar ratings since its 2015 inception.

Meanwhile, MasterChef Australia topped the entertainment shows with 680,000 while Bachelor in Paradise concluded with 454,000 and 417,000 for its Tell-All reunion.

The latest figures for The Footy Show, which is hosted by Neroli Meadows, Anthony Lehmann, Brendan Fevola, Dylan Alcott and Shane Crawford, are part of a discouraging trend for the show.
