They starred together in the Star Is Born remake, a film which has won her critical acclaim.
And Lady Gaga broke down in tears as she paid tribute to her co-star and friend Bradley Cooper ‘for allowing her to be Stefani again’ at the 32nd annual American Cinematheque Award Presentation on Thursday.
The Born This Way singer, 32, couldn’t contain her emotions as she took to the stage with co-star Sam Elliot to praise 43-year-old Bradley as he accepted the award for his many accomplishments in Hollywood.
In her moving speech, the songstress, real name Stefani Germanotta, said: ‘I ran from Stefani for a long time. I put on a superhero cape and called myself Lady Gaga. You challenged me to deep dive into a place where I had to see her again, be Stefani again.’
Gushing about Bradley, who starred in, directed and produced the film, Gaga couldn’t help but smile as she and Sam conducted their speech.
Speaking to Entertainment Tonight at the event, the blonde beauty said her and Bradley have struck a ‘lifetime friendship’.
She said: ‘We talk all the time, yeah. And it’s exciting and wonderful and we are both so grateful for how the film is being received…
‘You know, that’s what’s really come out of all of this for me: the reward of a lifetime friendship with someone I deeply respect.’
Though it was Cooper’s night, Lady Gaga arguably stole the show with her semi-sheer gown which fell all the way to the ground.
